Amar Chawdhury is an Electrical Engineer currently serving as a Hardware Engineer at Amazon Lab126. With a passion for innovation and technology, Amar combines his professional expertise with a deep commitment to community service and global impact.
Outside of his engineering work, he enjoys traveling, discovering new cuisines, and actively engaging in social and charitable initiatives. Amar is especially dedicated to supporting underprivileged communities—both globally and in his home country of Bangladesh. His goal is to help build a more connected, compassionate society by fostering opportunities for those in need.
Probir K. Paul is a psychiatrist based in San Diego, California, where he has resided since 1990. Now semi-retired, he brings decades of experience not only in mental health care but also in community service and nonprofit leadership.
Over the years, Mr. Paul has been actively involved with several nonprofit organizations across both the West and East Coasts of the United States. He is a founding member of Utshob and served as its first president. Since the completion of his presidential term, he has continued to support the organization in various executive roles and currently serves as Utshob ’s treasurer.
Mr. Paul remains committed to advancing Utshob’s mission of promoting Bengali culture and supporting charitable initiatives that serve underprivileged communities in both the United States and Bangladesh.
Dr. Sajib Saha is a dedicated primary care physician who has been serving the San Diego community since 2016. Alongside his medical practice, he is a passionate advocate for education and social impact.
Dr. Saha is the co-founder of BYPS in Sweden and the founder of Light to Light, an initiative focused on empowering underserved communities. He actively collaborates with various charitable foundations, with a special focus on improving access to education in Bangladesh. His mission is to support underprivileged students through mentorship, guidance, and long-term advocacy for systemic change.
Through his work, Dr. Saha continues to bridge healthcare and humanitarian service, striving to create a brighter future for the next generation.
Asish Bhattacharjee holds a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Orleans. He began his professional journey at Texas Instruments in Dallas, where he worked for 15 years, and currently serves at Qualcomm Technologies Inc. in San Diego.
Beyond his engineering career, Asish has been a dedicated advocate for community service and philanthropy. Since 2001, he has held executive positions in various charitable organizations across both Dallas and San Diego, contributing his leadership and vision to causes that uplift and support underserved communities.
With a strong foundation in technology and a deep commitment to giving back, Asish continues to make meaningful contributions both professionally and through his service work.
Apurba Nandi is a dedicated supporter of
Utshob, having been involved with the organization since its inception. Originally from Narail, Bangladesh, he currently leads the Engineering department at a local software company in San Diego, California, where he has resided since 2016.
Apurba holds graduate degrees from institutions in Montana and Mississippi. During his time at Mississippi State University, he actively embraced leadership roles—serving as President of the Bangladesh Association and Vice President of the Graduate Student Association.
Now firmly rooted in California, Apurba remains deeply committed to Utshob’s mission and continues to contribute his time and talents toward its charitable initiatives and community projects.
Anirudda Bhadra, fondly known as Omi, is a former British Army veteran now residing in Canada. Currently based in Toronto, he works as a professional Driving Instructor while remaining actively involved in community service.
Omi is closely associated with several local organizations, including temples and food banks, where he contributes his time and energy to support those in need. His dedication to service—both in uniform and in civilian life—reflects his deep commitment to helping others and strengthening the fabric of his community.
Dr. Kanka Karmakar is a compassionate pediatrician with over 20 years of experience serving at a community health center, where she provides high-quality care to underprivileged children and families from diverse backgrounds.
A devoted volunteer and founding supporter of UTSHOB, Dr. Karmakar is deeply committed to advancing health, education, and family support initiatives—particularly for minority and underserved communities in Bangladesh. Her lifelong dedication to service reflects a powerful blend of medical expertise and heartfelt advocacy for those in need.
Rajat Shuvro Roy came to the United States in 2008 to pursue his graduate studies. In 2014, he relocated to San Diego to join Illumina, a leading biotech company, where he currently works as a Staff Scientist.
Rajat has been actively involved with Utshob-SD since its inception, contributing in various capacities over the years. He currently serves as a Member-at-Large on the Executive Committee, continuing his commitment to supporting the organization's cultural and charitable initiatives.
Dr. Utpal Kumar Dey is a Computer Science Engineer currently working at Qualcomm Technologies Inc. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of North Texas, where he also served on the Bangladesh Student Association committee for three years and actively participated in various volunteer initiatives.
Driven by a strong sense of social responsibility, Dr. Dey is passionate about supporting underprivileged and financially vulnerable communities in Bangladesh. His blend of technical expertise and commitment to humanitarian work reflects his dedication to creating meaningful impact both locally and globally.
